What We Do

Providing health services and support, simultaneously

The first of its kind on the East Coast, Strong Ties offers all-encompassing encouragement and services from a variety of specialists—all within one practice.

Services we offer: Laser Frenum Release and Revision, Lactation Consulting, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Feeding Therapy, Navigating Newborn Sleep, Holistic Infant Massage, Nutritional Counseling, Post-Partum Counseling and Emotional Support Therapy.

Each service keeps the mother-infant relationship top of mind. Despite being treated by professionals at the top of their fields, our environment feels more supportive than sterile, and more motherly than medical.

about Dr. Khurana

Dr. Khurana is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She earned her dental degree from the University of Maryland and attended New York University’s College of Dentistry for her specialty training. At NYU, Dr. Khurana supervised undergraduate dental students and provided treatment in complex cases involving patients with special needs.

To this day, she maintains a profound interest in her work with children and adults who have rare health conditions, syndromes, and genetic disorders. She enthusiastically collaborates with other dental and medical specialists, including occupational and speech therapists, to ensure that every patient receives the best comprehensive care possible.

Dr. Khurana is not only a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, she is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Diplomate of the American Board of Laser Surgery.

As a mother of two young children herself, she draws from her personal experiences to cultivate a safe, supportive and loving relationship for her patients; nurturing the mother and infant dyad. Dr. Khurana finds so much joy in helping mothers and their babies and looks forward to helping in any way she can. She will ensure their mothering journey is comfortable and enjoyable as they provide all the benefits of breastfeeding to their babies.

After receiving her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Khurana spent several years providing exceptional care to underserved children in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her experience there shaped Dr. Khurana’s approach to patient-focused care, where a patient’s needs, preferences, and beliefs are respected at all times.

Over the years, Dr. Khurana has made every effort to extend her services to those in need – even overseas! She has traveled extensively to India and countries in West and South Africa, where she has volunteered in dental and maternal health clinics.

Raised in the DC Metropolitan area, Dr. Khurana takes immense pride in serving the children of this wonderful region.

Dr. Khurana is married to her high school sweetheart, Jason. Together, they are enjoying the excitement of raising their awesome son and daughter. Aside from her children, dentistry and helping moms and babies, Dr. Khurana’s hobbies include world travel and extreme sports (from sky diving and rock climbing to great white shark diving – you name it, she’s tried it). She enjoys running, biking, yoga and is also an avid skier.

Absolutely Amazing. We had our daughter’s lip and tongue tie evaluated and release procedure done same day. Dr. K is so knowledgeable and makes sure she gives you all the information possible. Everyone was so comforting during this difficult time. Definitely the best place to go for lactation support when confronted with these challenges!

Dr Khurana and her staff went above and beyond for us! Not only did they find time to squeeze us in their busy schedule, but Dr Khurana spent so much time with us, listening to our concerns, answering questions, explaining the procedure thoroughly, and providing feedback as well as follow-up instructions. Our 7-month old twins did wonderfully for the tongue and lip tie revisions and we are happily able to continue our nursing relationship thanks to Dr Khurana! This is a huge win for us considering we have been looking for help and answers to our concerns for months now. We cannot recommend her enough! Thank you Dr K!

There are many health professionals who are skilled at their jobs, but it often takes a lot of searching to find one who is also readily accessible and genuinely personable. We are very grateful that our search led us to Dr. Khurana. When we realized that our week-old daughter had a tongue tie and could not nurse properly, we contacted Dr. Khurana for a professional opinion. Dr. Khurana not only made time to meet with us the next day, but took a holistic approach to determining the appropriate solution. We spent the next weeks exploring different strategies to address the problem, and Dr. Khurana checked in with us repeatedly and facilitated communication among us and the other professionals involved (a lactation consultant, our pediatricians, etc.). Dr. Khurana then helped us make an informed decision to remove the tongue tie, and the procedure was very successful. Both before and after the procedure, Dr. Khurana displayed a genuine concern for us and our baby and offered encouragement and advice. We hope that we will someday have the opportunity to work with Dr. Khurana again (when our baby needs a dentist), and we highly recommend Dr. Khurana and her staff.
